Jude 1: 1-3
(Jude 1: 1-3)『 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ,
and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by
God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and
called: Mercy
unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. Beloved, when I gave all
diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to
write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith
which was once delivered unto the saints. 』
Judas, who wrote
Jude, is the fourth brother of Jesus' brother, James, Joseph, and Simon, who
were born to Joseph and Mary. There are several Judas of the same name in the
Bible, including one of Jesus' twelve disciples, Judeus Tadao, Judas the
Garroth, Judas the son of James, and Judas the younger brother of Jesus who
wrote Jude. Since Jesus' younger brothers were born and raised in a family
since childhood, they did not admit that Jesus was the Christ. Even in John
7:5, we can see that even when Jesus went up to Jerusalem to celebrate the
Feast of Tabernacles, six months before the end of his public life, they were
still in the position of those who did not believe that Jesus was the Christ.
However, after Jesus
died on the cross and was resurrected, in 1 Corinthians 15:5 and below, he was
shown to Geba, later to the twelve disciples, and then to over 500 brothers at
a time, then to James. James, mentioned here, is Jesus' younger brother and
supreme leader of the Church of the Early Church in Jerusalem. After that,
Jesus' younger brother Judas also confirmed Jesus' resurrection and believed in
Jesus as the Christ. Thus, after the brothers of Jesus who did not believe in
Jesus at first witnessed the resurrection of Jesus, they dedicated themselves
as Church leaders.
Originally, when trying to write Jude, Judas tried to write about
salvation, but he wrote that he wrote Judas to encourage the war against the
Gnostic heresy to prevent the Gospel from being altered and the Saints being
deceived. .『 Beloved, when I gave all
diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to
write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith
which was once delivered unto the saints. 』 Gnosticism based on the dualism that matter is evil and soul is good at
the time distorted the teachings of the Bible. Gnosticism made two
contradictory claims. First, because the material is evil, the human body is
also evil, so it was taught that the body must be abused to be saved. So it led
to extreme asceticism.
Second, the Gnostics
argued that everything man-made was evil and that morality was not necessary.
They fell into the extreme pleasures of neglect of the pleasures of the flesh,
in the vain name of the development of the spirit. In the end, Gnosticism
deceived the Saints from living a proper life of faith by asserting two
contradictory claims, extreme asceticism and pleasure. It is Jude that warns
against this and encourages the life of the right faith.
The book of Jude is a
warning of the Gnostic heresy, with the exception of verses 1–2 and the final
praise, verses 24–25. The subjects that Judas wrote were those who were called, those who
were loved in Heavenly Father and kept for Jesus Christ. Those who are called
are 『them that are sanctified by God the Father』.
Philippian jailer
tortured Paul. It is because they do things that exorcise ghosts. The apostle
Paul, who was tortured, praised and prayed in a dark prison when he might die.
All the other prisoners have also heard. However, today's situation can be said
to be darker than this. Numerous churches are engulfed in relief, and the
situation continues, emphasizing only God's love, speaking of salvation as long
as it is believed, and repentance as being forgiven. The Lord opened Paul's
prison gate. Although the gate was opened, Paul did not go out. When Paul went
to Macedonia, he saw a fantasy beckoning someone to come. So, where Paul went
was Philippi, Paul was paying attention to one person.
It means that Paul
found the object when he suffered. Since the prison gate was opened, the
prisoner thought that he had fled, and the guard tried to commit suicide. When
the jailer tried to commit suicide, he heard God's voice through Paul, saying,
"Do not hurt your body." It is said in the Bible that Philippian
guards trembled in fear. God comes with love to those who repent. So, he
becomes righteous. Repentance is not the focus of confessing how you've lived,
but turning from what you have lived. "Returning" means dying about
the world that led to it. It is to turn to God with fear. This is repentance.
In Romans 6:7, "the dead are justified."
When Philippian guard
told Paul, "How can I be saved," Paul said, "Trust in the Lord
Jesus, and you and your house will be saved." This is the repentance of
"the way of faith given to the saints at once." It is said that Judas
tried to write a letter about "general salvation," but that he was in
a hurry to write about "The Road of Faith Given at Once." Salvation
has two objects. It is to explain the salvation gained in general and the way
of faith gained at once. 『General Salvation』 refers to the salvation of unchanging truth. It will be necessary
for those who have a rudimentary intention to misrecognize salvation. Because
many churches distort the meaning of salvation.
In John 3:16『 For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 』
The believer here is not that kind of faith he believes in. The believer
receives the revelation of Christ and tells the repentant faith from God. In
Galatians 3:23, 『But before faith came, we were kept
under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 』 Salvation and repentance are connected.
However, "Faith
at once" means fighting hard not to move away from salvation. Otherwise,
they will become like the exodus from Israel. In Jude 1:5『 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once
knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 』
God delivered the people from Egypt, but those who did not obey God's word were
destroyed in the wilderness. God tells us that salvation is to fight and
overcome until the body leaves the world. Otherwise, even if you believe you
were saved, as in 1:6-19, you become a spiritual adulterer, a critic of others,
a slanderer, acting instinctively, complaining of worldly complaints, boasting
of the things of the world It is to become those who like it.
The salvation is
divided into two types: "The salvation once received is eternal, no."
There are many passages in the Bible that make salvation once considered
eternal. The burglar of Jesus on the cross received eternal salvation at once
in a short time. The Philippian guard also heard the voice of God through Paul
at the moment of his suicide and gained faith to be saved at once. The
important thing here is that there must be the same repentance. Repentance is
self-denial. Those who are not born again cannot reach salvation. Those who are
born again do not fall from salvation. Those who are concerned about falling
from salvation are not born again.
Without repentance
associated with Jesus crucified, we cannot have the cross, the key to the
kingdom of God. Salvation can only be known when leaving the body. Whether they
have the key of the cross or not is to be judged before the death of the last
body. Without the key of the cross, past faith is not faith from God, but faith
that you believe. Like Job before repentance, he is in a state of
self-righteousness.
Judas Iscariot was
one of the twelve disciples. He removed the ghost in the name of Jesus, and
experienced all kinds of miracles, including the miracles of Oh Byung-Eire. It
is said that Garuda Judas liked money. He lived with Jesus for three years, but
he sold Jesus for money. No matter how much Bible knowledge, spiritual
experience, and praise in the church, Jesus can be abandoned on the cross. So,
repentance means being united with Jesus, who died on the cross. It means that
if you do not repent, God is ruled not by love, but by righteousness. It means
that no one will enter the kingdom of God unless they repent. It is said that
all who have not been acknowledged by God for righteousness are under judgment.
In Romans 6:7 『For he that is dead is freed from sin. 』
No matter how
confessing and repenting of sin, human sinfulness does not disappear. Only
those who died on the cross with Jesus are accepted by God. God makes those who
are in Christ children. Humans were dead if they had lived in Noah's Flood. Likewise,
entering into the water at baptism tells God that he is so dead. That is why he
is dead to sin against the world. As a dead person, of course, he is also dead
about the law. In Romans 7:4, 『Wherefore, my brethren, ye
also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be
married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should
bring forth fruit unto God. 』. The Bible tells us that
we must see the fruit and think again.
